  1. Improved cognitive development and academic performance.
  2. Reduced absenteeism and increased enrolment.
  3. Enhanced nutritional status and reduced stunting.
  4. Reduction in girl dropouts.
  5. Positive impact on economic productivity and social mobility

Prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology have conducted case studies on the operational efficiency, systems and processes of our school lunch programs and included them in their syllabus. Studies have also shown that the other feeding initiatives have made significant contributions towards hunger alleviation and food and nutrition security.

Apart from providing food assistance, our programs have also created employment opportunities for youth and women, contributing to their financial independence and stability.

Looking Ahead

Projected Impact of World Food Movement Feeding Programs

Food insecurity is a growing issue among students attending community colleges, and there is a significant need for feeding programs to provide healthy and nutritious meals. According to the study conducted by the US Government Accountability Office in 2020, 23% of college students faced insecurity. It has been reported that students often skip meals because they cannot afford them and need to save for other expenses. This leads to low energy, lack of concentration, poor academic performance and health issues.

World Food Movement is striving to ensure that no one goes hungry. Our feeding programs are currently focused on serving fresh, nutritious meals to students in community colleges.

The projected impact of our feeding programs are:

  • 1

    Access to nutritious food

Students who barely have access to good food due to various factors, including cost, need not worry about it anymore. We are not just serving food but nutritious and healthy meals that will help these youth become physically, mentally and emotionally stronger.

  • 2

    Enhanced Physical and Mental Health

A calm and focused mind keeps all ailments away. The food provided to students will not only satiate their hunger but also contribute to their overall well-being and help them bring out their best forms.

  • 3

    Better Academic Performance

A full stomach enables better brain function and improves concentration. Our program will contribute to cognitive development, reasoning abilities, problem-solving and decision-making skills, resulting in an enriched personality and academic performance.

  • 4

    Financial Stability

Students will be better placed financially due to our feeding programs. They can allocate their limited resources to housing or other investments that will help them secure their future. Students may also be able to reduce their working hours and focus more on their studies as they will not have high pressure of earning.

  • 5

    Improvement in quality of life

Since students no longer need to worry about their food expenses, they can save for other crucial expenses for themselves or their families. They can continue their education peacefully, sustain themselves and also become active contributors to their families’ socio-economic conditions, thus improving their quality of life.

    Community Building and Engagement

We invite individuals and organisations to participate in our feeding program by volunteering or sponsoring for the cause. In this way, our programs will contribute to community building and encourage people to join us in serving humanity.
